Duration of storage: retention periods

Activities that you carry out on our social media channels and the associated personal data are subject to the deletion periods of the respective social media provider.

If your data is processed on systems outside the social media channel, we generally store your data for as long as this is necessary to provide our offer and the associated services or as long as we have a legitimate interest in further storage (e.g. we may still have a legitimate interest in postal marketing even after fulfillment of a contract). We then delete your personal data with the exception of data that we must continue to store in order to fulfill legal obligations (e.g. we are obliged to retain documents such as contracts and invoices for a certain period of time due to retention periods under tax and commercial law).

Communication via our social media channels

You can send us messages via our social media channels. In doing so, we receive additional data from the respective provider, which you can find in the information on the respective social media channel.

This personal data is used to process your request and provide you with support (for example, you can send us questions about our products, which we will then answer). We also use the data in aggregated and anonymized form to better understand the use of our social media channels. For this purpose, we can analyze which group of people (e.g. end customers, private individuals, employees) use the communication channel.

The personal data you provide to us will be transferred to the Bosch legal entity responsible for the request (for example, if your request relates to a product distributed by another Bosch legal entity). The Bosch legal entity responsible for the processing may also be located outside the EEA. In this case, we will ensure that the recipient has an adequate level of data protection prior to the transfer.

The legal basis for the processing of your personal data arises from our legitimate interests in maintaining customer relationships or any existing contractual relationship.

Insights

Providers of social media channels grant us access to statistical analyses that provide information about the use of our social media channel. The analyses visible to us do not allow us to analyze the usage behavior of individual persons. We can only view aggregated data (e.g. number of hits, likes, followers, region of origin, age group, gender) that provide information about our audience and the use of our social media channel.

This processing is based on our legitimate interest, in particular to be able to contact you in response to your inquiries or posts and to identify user preferences and adapt and improve the offering on our social media channels.

Please note that the providers of the social media channels process certain information about your visit to our respective channel even if you do not have a user account or are not logged in.
